CHANTILLY, Va. – September 11th, 2023 All Traffic Solutions (ATS) awarded a Shield 12 radar speed sign to the Wilmot Police Department in New Hampshire through the company’s ATS Gives Back initiative.
All Traffic Solutions is committed to creating safe streets and neighborhoods across the country with their products and software. Over the years, ATS found that police departments in smaller communities have a need for All Traffic Solutions signs but lack the necessary funds and do not qualify for grants. The ATS Gives Back goal is to bridge this gap by donating a radar speed sign to a community in need each month. The rural town of Wilmot, New Hampshire and is about 25 miles from the bordering state of Vermont. Wilmont has a population of just over 1,000 residents and its police department has only one sworn officer. With limited resources, enforcing speed limits can be a challenge for Wilmot Police Department. Their Chief, Duncan Domey applied for the ATS Gives Back Program after receiving multiple complaints from residents regarding speeding in their town. To address the complaints, the New Hampshire DOT conducted a traffic study in their main town area, which confirmed the speeding and advised a radar speed sign be deployed in the town to resolve the issue. The town was looking for a radar speed sign that has a long run-time and reduces the number of times the batteries needed to be changed.
Since being awarded their Shield 12 radar speed sign, the Wilmot police department has utilized their sign to make drivers more aware of their speed in the town center. Chief Domey thanked ATS, stating, “A big thank you to All Traffic Solutions for donating one of their radar signs to Wilmot.
