CHANTILLY, Va. – May 8, 2024 All Traffic Solutions (ATS) awarded a Shield 12 radar speed sign to Wallenpaupack Area School Police Department in Pennsylvania through the company’s ATS Gives Back initiative.

The Wallenpaupack Area School Police Department is responsible for maintaining security and ensuring safety across six public schools in Pennsylvania’s Wayne and Pike Counties. Comprising five full-time officers and one part-time officer, the department is dedicated to serving the students, teachers, and staff within their district. In their ATS Gives Back program application, Chief Matthew McCormick emphasized the significance of radar speed signs like the Shield 12 in bolstering community safety, particularly in the vicinity of schools. Chief McCormick’s firsthand experience underscores the crucial role these tools play in promoting road safety and creating safer school zones.
The Wallenpaupack Area School Police Department has reported positive results since deploying their new Shield 12 radar speed sign. The department strategically placed the sign in front of their most populated school to address the high traffic volume during peak hours. Chief McCormick emphasized that the sign has significantly improved road safety around the school premises, stating, “The sign has made a great impact on our road condition during school hours. Plus, it has provided great data which we were able to provide to the Pennsylvania State Police and the Township where our school is located.”
