CHANTILLY, Va. – May 10, 2023 All Traffic Solutions (ATS) awarded a Shield 12 radar speed sign to the Haw River Police Department in Wisconsin through the company’s ATS Gives Back initiative.
All Traffic Solutions is committed to creating safe streets and neighborhoods across the country with their products and software. Over the years, ATS found that police departments in smaller communities have a need for All Traffic Solutions signs but lack the necessary funds and do not qualify for grants. The ATS Gives Back goal is to bridge this gap by donating radar speed signs to communities in need each month. The Haw River Police Department, located in North Carolina, is a dedicated team of nine officers working to make their small town of just over two thousand residents safer every day. In their application for the ATS Gives Back Program, a local elementary school principal shared his concerns about speeding vehicles in school zones. The principal, Mr. Curry Bryan wrote, “Since the current speed monitor began to fail, I have witnessed increasing incidents of cars speeding through our school zone. I feel strongly that a new speed display would help to greatly curtail speeding near our campus.”
The Haw River Police Department has since implemented its new Shield 12 radar speed sign in its school zone and has seen a dramatic decrease in speeding in the area. Sergeant Ben Morgan of the Haw River Police Department states, “We are already benefiting greatly from the new sign. We are primarily using it to reduce speeding near the school. It is replacing broken signs from another company. We are also able to use the data gathered to direct speed enforcement for patrol officers.”
